Though the gospel writers could have taken us straight from the Upper Room to the Empty Tomb, they instead chose to relate all of the horrific events of Christ's life in the hours leading up to His death. The Passion of Christ, as it is sometimes called, provides many inspiring truths that equip us to live the Christian life for God's glory. But before Jesus can be our model, He must first be our Messiah. In today's message, we look more intently at the "cup" Jesus drank for us and its implications for our lives, especially in seasons of deep trial and hardship. The heart of the gospel centers around Jesus doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.
