Morgan Grace Newsletter

Mountain View Baptist Church has partnered with Morgan Grace Fellowship for almost a year now. The people of MVBC have come along side this new church plant financially; but, more importantly in prayer and participation. God is blessing Morgan Grace in so many ways.

Several new families have visited Morgan Grace for worship recently. Pastor Jeff Hurlbut and others have prayed over these people. They are asking God to bring people to Morgan Grace who have a desire to reach Morgan, Utah, for Christ. Over 40 people worshipped at Morgan Grace Easter Sunday. Children's worship has been added.  MVBC members, Gary and Naomi McKean, have committed to Morgan Grace for a time to help them develop a Sunday School. Naomi is teaching the children, and Gary began a six-week study for adults on April 7. The study outlines the basic tenets of Baptist doctrine and Christianity. At the end of those six weeks, there will be a recognition service for the charter members and the first invitation for people to become official members of Morgan Grace Fellowship

In January, Morgan Grace reached out to high school students by offering a free monthly lunch. The lunch is served in the church. Many students participated. The next lunch is scheduled for April 23. Jill Hughes and Naomi McKean helped with the cooking and serving. Morgan Grace can always use assistance in preparing and serving the lunch as well as in ministering to the students. Plans are in the works for a monthly Saturday evening youth gathering. Initially, this will be a time of fellowship. However, the goal is to begin a weekly youth
Morgan Grace has been granted permission for "release time," by the school district. And, Pastor Jeff, who started working full-time for the school district in March, has been grants permission to adjust his work schedule to be available during that time. This release time will begin in the fall and will be during first period. Morgan Grace asks for prayer as they develop curriculum and recruit leaders for this Christian education opportunity. A specific prayer request is for transportation to get the students to the school after the classes.

Morgan Grace youth attended Ski & Share with youth from Mountain View in March. A great time of fellowship, worship, and skiing was had by all.

After a somewhat rocky start with the city council, Morgan Grace was given permission to erect a cross at the intersection of State Street and 150 North during the Easter season. The church is located on 150 North. The cross was draped with a purple cloth that was changed to white Easter Sunday morning. Sunrise services were held in a local park Easter Sunday morning. On April 18, the church will host a luncheon for members of the Morgan City Council and others in the community who have assisted with projects. The lunch will be at the church. Morgan Grace is working hard to make their presence known within the community.

Morgan Grace celebrated their first baptism recently!!! Praise God -- people of Morgan are coming to know Christ through Morgan Grace Fellowship!

There are two upcoming opportunities for MVBC to assist Morgan Grace in ministry -- both by praying and by volunteering.

June 9-15: Vacation Bible School in the park.  A mission team from Oklahoma will be in town and bring all the supplies. VBS will be in the mornings. Morgan Grace plans to host youth volleyball clinics in the afternoon and worship services for youth in the evenings. They would like the MVBC youth praise band to play and for some MVBC youth and leaders to attend.

June 24-28: "Serve Morgan." This will be similar to a World Changers event and is sponsored by Washington Heights Baptist Church. More than 200 volunteers are coming to Morgan to make repairs on 15 homes. Morgan Grace plans to make the repairs on one of those homes. They need men and women to come and help with these repairs.

Please continue to lift up Morgan Grace Fellowship. Pray for Pastor Jeff and his family. Pray for the faithful people who have given so much to get the church to where it is today. Pray that God will reach Morgan, Utah, through the work of this new church.
