Hurricane Harvey Relief

8/27/2017

Send Relief and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief (SBDR) teams began responding before Hurricane Harvey made landfall, deploying hundreds of crisis buckets and sending other supplies that would be needed in the immediate aftermath of the storm. Now we have been asked to assist in the care of up to 60,000 displaced Texans in addition to preparing thousands of hot meals and performing mud-out, chainsaw and cleaning services to restore survivors’ homes.

SBDR teams will be on the ground for months to come. Will you join us in supporting our volunteers as they work tirelessly to care for strangers, neighbors, families and friends?
Any donation will equip our volunteers to operate units and provide hot showers, fresh laundry, homemade meals and a kind face to confide in. It’s only possible through your generosity.
Be part of Christ’s love in action, today. And please pray for those affected by Hurricane Harvey’s destruction. Thank you.
Send Hope. Send Help. Send Relief. Click here to be directed to a page where you can securely donate to Send Relief and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.

“Jesus knows that His time with the disciples is drawing to an end. The final hours are upon Him. The enemy is on the way. It is time. Jesus knows He is about to speak – for the last time before His death – with His disciples. His heart aches for the pain they will endure for Him, for His name, for the gospel.” In His Last Words by Kim Erickson, we will do a verse by verse study of John 13-17 learning what words Jesus felt He had to impart to His disciples to prepare them for the journey ahead.

Please join us, starting Wednesday 13 Sep 2017, at 6:15pm for this 7-Week Study as we delve into Jesus’ final hours with His disciples.

See sign up in the Fellowship Hall or contact Marny McAlexander at marnykmc@yahoo.com or Debbie Eaves at dkeaves@hotmail.com.
(Nursery/AWANA/Youth programs available for children during this study)

Psalms: A 12 week Bible Study

The book of Psalms powerfully resonates with the whole spectrum of human emotions and experiences, resounding with heartfelt praise, humble confession, and honest lament.
This guide explains the biblical text with clarity and passion—exploring the Bible’s ability to transform our emotions and incline our hearts toward worship.
Over the course of 12 weeks, these studies explore books of the Bible and:
  • Ask thoughtful questions to spur discussion
  • Show how each passage unveils the gospel
  • Tie the text in with the whole story of Scripture
  • Illuminate the doctrines taught in each passage
  • Invite you to discover practical implications
  • Help you better understand and apply God’s Word

Table of Contents
Week 1: Overview
Week 2: Doorway to the Psalms (Psalms 1–18)
Week 3: Love the Lord, All You His Saints (Psalms 19–31)
Week 4: Surrounded by Steadfast Love (Psalms 32–41)

Week 7: Truly God Is Good to Israel (Psalms 73–78)
Week 8: Glorify Your Name (Psalms  79–89)
