Is talking to God alone or with others something you find delightful or boring? These questions are not intended to produce shame or guilt but simply help us think about one of the most important building blocks in a believer's life - prayer. Because what we believe always determines how we behave, it's important for us to have periodic reminders about certain bedrock principles that undergird the Christian life. Prayer is one such bedrock principle and in James 5:13-17 we are reminded of the importance of prayer. Video of Message ![]() There is more to the Christian life than showing up to scheduled events and looking at the back of one another's heads. We are meant to do life together. Doing life together is fleshed out in many ways; from Bible Study, to sharing meals, to playing together. It is the picture of the Gospel we take outside of the four walls of the church building and into our communities. Life groups are one way to take Christ into our communities - as our church body grows we must broaden our impact to our communities by spreading out during the week. If you are interested in hosting or leading a Life group - taking the Gospel into your community from Petersen to Syracuse or from North Ogden to Bountiful - please let us know. - Acts 2:44-47 - Video of Message ![]() As we conclude our study of First Corinthians today, we find the apostle Paul highlighting different ways believers can encourage one another in the Christian faith. Dividing Chapter 16 into three parts; Dollars, Divine Appointments and Dedicated Disciples, we see how Paul saves the best for last as he describes the critical role people play in God's work. Though all three serve an important role in the local church, dollars and divine appointments mean nothing without dedicated disciples whose hearts are fully committed to Christ. - First Corinthians 16:15-24 - Video of Message ![]() After his love for Jesus Christ, the Apostle Paul could not find enough words to express his appreciation for his fellow workers in ministry. Dollars and Divine Appointments mean nothing without dedicated workers. The church's greatest treasure will always be people - people dedicated to loving Jesus with their whole hearts. Here in 1 Corinthians 16, Paul lists several individuals who played an important role among the 1st Century churches. Including Paul, we have eight individuals whose relationship with the church serves as a model for dedicated discipleship. The two we will look at today are Timothy and Apollos. - First Corinthians 16:10-12 - Video of Message |
