![]() Whether we like it or not, all of us are growing older and aging. And with the aging process comes more difficulties and hardships. Hardships in the flesh and hardships in the spirit. Growing up in Christ is not without its hardships as well. To help us thrive in season's of suffering, God has provided what the Apostle Paul called, "surpassing greatness of power" in Ephesians 1. In today's message, we consider the fact that when God's great power comes to supply our needs, it may not look like what we think it should. Video of Message You don't need a PhD in theology to see how God places a premium on confession and repentance from sin. From Genesis to Revelation, we see many examples of God's people repenting and confessing their sin. The renewed emphasis on prayer in recent decades has reminded us that confession and repentance are important ingredients for a growing relationship with Jesus. With that idea in mind, we have devoted today's worship to prayers of confession and repentance, reading of Scripture and singing. Video of Service ![]() On the topic of motherhood, Erma Bombeck once said , "The easiest part of motherhood is giving birth . . . the hardest part is showing up for it each day." Today is Mother's Day; the day mothers are rewarded for washing sheets in the middle the night, driving kids to school when they missed the bus, enduring sporting events in the pouring rain or freezing snow and a gazillion other sacrifices. In their own special way, what their children are trying to say is - Thank you for showing up each day. Daily sacrifices do not come without daily stresses, however. But no matter how difficult motherhood might get, there is One who sees a mother's hardship, actually feels her pain and has acted on her behalf to free her heart. His name is Jesus Christ and proof that mothers matter to Him can be found in Luke 7:11-17. Video of Message ![]() If faith is the cornerstone of the Christian life, how do everyday ordinary Christians handle doubts and fears about God's will for their lives? What do you do when you expected following Jesus to look like one thing but it became something completely different? What do you do when the victorious Christian life becomes anything but victorious? In today's message, we revisit the account of the two men walking with Jesus to Emmaus from Luke 24 and learn that our faith can grow strong during seasons of hardship. But it will require something from us. Video of Message |
